gladys + luis wedding { part 1 }

glady's was referred to me by one of her bridesmaids. right from the start  we had a great  connection. what stands out about our first meeting was that she wasn't sure what to do with the flowers. she kept insisting and warning me that she had no creative side at all. upon meeting her  she did something no bride has ever done before.  she sent me a nice compliment right after our first meeting via email. she stated how happy and excited she was about the flower ideas we came up with and how eager she was to get to work.....

we had about a year to begin planning for  her wedding. she was very easy to deal with, she  trusted me to help her make the right decisions. this was also the time i discovered this great photographer named joy marie .... look at these amazing shots..

more to come on part 2

{flowers and fillers}
dusty miller
ranunculus
dahlias
astilbe
ice pink protea
succulents
lisianthus
garden roses
scabiosas
anemones

{colors}
grey is the new black and mix with blushful colors (light pink, peach, sade green)
mustard yellow is the new version of yellow
coral red with mint or blue, replacing the very popular tiffany blue
brown with rustic red and orange

{style/materials}
alternating centerpieces, tall and short arrangements on the tables
uniques vases/containers (my own finds from flea markets),
create a cluster look on the table, mix and match small vintage containers, and use vintage books to have layer

a {sweet heart} table is a must have, this is an opportunity for you and your new husband to sit and enjoy the moment by yourselves

make your own dessert bar/buffet {pies, macaroons, cake pops} make it "your own", go all out, you can never have too many treats on the table, your guest will appreciate them even to take home

unique table numbers, be creative and make it personal, a lot of great ideas online. this also includes specially made signs that you can place around your reception and ceremony

pick a venue that will have the best ambiance for your guest to enjoy!
{a backyard wedding is as beautiful as having it a five-star hotel}

lastly, a good photographer that understands your style and expectations, it's a great idea to set the tone on your engagement session, make it a mini photo shoot for them.
i get disappointed when i don't see them capture the details of your special day. i highly recommend making a list and reminding them...

i'm back

well it's been awhile since i've posted something..

2011 was a great year and 2012 is looking pretty good!

i promised to post more pictures and keep this blog as my journal..

to start, one of my favorite local photographer Marianne Wilson Photography took these shots of Leo & Vickie's wedding at the beautiful grounds of McCormick Ranch. preparing for this wedding was one of the  best, vickie (the bride) was so creative herself and put a lot of of her personal touches on the decor.
